Virat Kohli fastest to 9000 Runs in ODI Cricket

Virat Kohli on 29th October 2017 became the fastest batsman to score 9,000 runs in ODIs during the series-deciding third game against New Zealand in Kanpur.

Overall, Virat Kohli, who played his 202nd match, has become the 19th batsman to reach the 9,000-run mark, making him the fastest to get there beating A.B. de Villiers, according to ESPNCricinfo. Kohli got to the landmark in the 37th over when he guided one off Grandhomme towards the third man for a four.

The Indian captain also scored his 32nd century during the match. He is second after Sachin Tendulkar (49) in the all-time list of most ODI centuries.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni had reached the 9,000-run milestone last year while other Indians who have done so are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin.
